Cranberry Pearls

I was told that ABC's The View featured (or at least talked about) a cranberry pearl necklace. Did anyone see the necklace that can describe it?

Here's a picture of cranberry and gray/lavender pearls.

Congratulations, Terry! You have uncovered a source of the fabled faux faux Lop Noors! Well, if anyone could do it, it would be you....!

(For beginners: Faux faux Lop Noors are cultured freshwater pearls processed to look like the original "natural red" freshwaters from the Lop Nur moving lake region. Since the original natural Lop Noors are a fable (thus fake or faux) to begin with, the cultured Chinese freshwater copies are known as faux, faux Lop Noors..........)

All joking aside, those are outstanding pearls of captivating beauty and rarely seen so round in such a lush color of "Lop Noor" red! I hope they catch on like chocolate colored pearls have.

Oh Yes, the Lop Noors, tee hee, these lookvery pretty, Terry, and an interesting combination of colors. We can keep expanding our pearl wardrobe and not have a fortune invested! YES!!

so many pearls, so little time

Red and grey are quite popular school colors, so I think the combination is very natural. Now there's an untapped market! You could do those "booster" fund raisers with school colors.

Very nice! I'm adding that and the brown/golden freshwaters to my wishlist! I haven't seen high quality dyed pearls in China so far ... they seem so keen on dying low quality pearls. Sigh. BTW, how big are these? I'm hoping 8.5 mm or so ... don't like smallish pearls anymore.

This is a first for me - these pearls actually don't "do it" for me at all! Sorry! Definitely reminds me of way too many school uniforms! At least I haven't added to my wish list yet again!

This looks like something I'd wear around Christmas time! The color combo really is striking and fashionable.

I actually just bought a top with the exact same coloring, so I'm very excited. Will take some pics once I get my hands on it. Nerida, the school uniforms you've seen must be quite colorful! I remember having really dull colors, like amber with white and navy blue with white. That's Chinese school for ya!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! The pearls are 6.5-7mm. We're planning on putting them on next week's sale. We were only able to get 18 of them. We'll also be getting the same size/quality in cranberry color only.

It is a lovely combination - the colors from my high school. Nice job (and imaginative), Terry!

I'll see what I can do for that "Circle of Life" necklace/pendant for the sale. I know we have matching earrings available as well, though we haven't added them to the site yet.

Interesting. I think I'd prefer the all-cranberry strands. Imagine that at Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Here's a picture of the all-cranberry strand.

The pure cranberry looks really good! I suppose they would go well with the turkey ... I never liked the low grade dyed pearls - this totally changed that! Ropes would be wonderful too!

I love the colors and they do contrast so beautifully too! Refreshing! Haven't seen this color (red) in high quality FWP before! :)

I don?t like dyed pearls normally but I really LOVE these colours and think like Amrita that they are refreshing, beautiful. Only I would like larger pearls just as Raisondetre. Once you have started with the larger sizes, you don?t want to go back to the small ones,

I've seen really nice quality dyed pearls lately. Olive green, apple green, cranmberries, bright purples, rust... They look really good! They are round with very few blemishes. I like the cranberries and the olive greens best. The apple green and bright pinks look like christmas decors. :)

To be honest, I only like dyed colors if they are done well and on AA+ or above pearls, and also in the larger sizes. If I do manage to catch next week's sale I *might* still try out the smaller cranberry/grey/lavender strand as it matches my top perfectly, but bigger is better, at least for pearls. The new dyed colors sound great! As usual, high-grade pearls only for me. Until I pick up beading, that is. Nah, too lazy ...
