Candled Pearls of My Necklace

One of my baroque akoyas has a partial ring or long indentation like that. Does your pearl's ring go all the way around or paritally?
My baroque akoya strand is 9.5-10mm. Maybe yours are baroque akoyas, too?

It’s partial and only in that one pearl. The rest of the pearls are practically close to round. Thanks for the example! - Hulda

Hulda, increasingly I think yours are baroque akoyas. Mine are close to round as well.
The high iridescence of your pearls is another reason to suspect they are baroques.

Thanks for the reply! Your necklace appears new and the pearls look like shell ground. Are they shell pearls (man-made) or Akoya? I can recognize baroque pearls. I had a baroque necklace that had natural pearls and this necklace of mine is not baroque. I know the types of pearls that made my necklace and I will certify them by doing the x-ray. - Hulda

My necklace is baroque cultured akoya pearls. I bought them from Pearl Paradise last year. :)

Hulda, please let us know the results of your necklace.

PD, your baroque akoyas are stunning!!! The overtones are practically screaming to be seen!

Thanks, amti. :) They have a nice "soap bubble" appearance in the right light.

Hulda, we look forward to your xrays report.

Oooh Pearl Dreams, those are beautiful!

My husband took our son...I'm taking our daughter Labor Day weekend. Senior year for son, in Ohio. Sophomore year for youngest daughter in NYC (I drew the short straw, move in is Saturday of Labor Day weekend....but DH doesn't know that daughter and I worked out a deal...she's taking the train and 4 days worth of clothes, sheet set and towel...I will come on Tuesday after LD with the rest of the haul).

That was a smart arrangement you made with your daughter, JerseyPearl. Our daughter took her car to school for the first time today. Hubby rode shotgun with her, I drove my car-- both were packed pretty full.

Pd - whoa whoa whoa :d

;)
I'd never be able to buy a non-baroque akoya strand of this size and luster. Baroques offer great value and a unique look.
But I've hijacked the thread long enough. Back to Hulda's pearls!
