buying advice sought - hanadama graduated

It is not very difficult to do, actually. You simply use pearls that you know will pass. In October, a producer/processor from Japan came to our office for a week and brought a lot of pearls. We selected all the zero-spot, highest-luster strands and sent them back to Japan with him for certification. Every strand passed. High-luster, one-spot strands will often pass certification, but the zero-spot high will pass every time.

You are looking for an interesting piece. If I may ask, why a graduated strand?

Simply my wife's style preference.

As a consumer, I find it interesting to consider spending money for Hanadama pearls that are not yet Hanadama. I'd say that adds a level of discomfort, particularly when dealing with a vendor I have no past experience with that uses their own grading system. Trust is a difficult thing to gain, particularly with large purchases.

Keepclam,
in that case you are most certainly much better off to deal with one of our vendors on the forum, like Pearl Paradise, just look through other posts....
