Hello
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I've been reading the forum for a few months, but it's my first time posting. Thanks to Jeremy Shepherd for refering me to this wealth of information and reputable pearl people! I'm from Montreal, Canada. I've been attracted to pearls since my teens, but had none for myself. At age 35, I broke the ice recently and purchased my first piece: FW dangles from PP (ear pictures coming up I promise! I know you guys like that). Well, It was about time! I had a great shopping expericence and was 100% satisfied. I'm now thinking of building my collection. Can't wait to get the next piece, and the next after that and so on! Saving up right now. My husband thinks i'm a bit compulsive. Maybe he's right! But seriously, pearls are truly a passion and so fascinating. I'm sure you all understand here... I'm now bugging my husband for a really great 10th wedding anniversary gift. Maybe a hanadama pearl necklace, or a metallic FW one, or SS pearl earrings, and what about Tahiti pearl ones, oh and those Sea of Cortez ones, wow... You all have given me lots of good ideas! Looking forward to chat with you all.

Hi Isabelle and welcome

looking forward to chatting, and watching that collection grow :rolleyes:

Hi Isabelle,

Welcome to the forum. I hope you're going to have lots of fun, learn a ton, and let us help you spend the money we don't have anymore (because we spent them on pearls) :)

- Karin

Welcome! When you get a chance, we'd love to see some pictures of your pearls.

Here are the promised pictures! Enjoy

Thanks Caitlin! I do wear them almost everyday. They're 8.5-9 mm freshadamas whith ros? overtones. Thinking of getting the necklace to match now.

Welcome Isabelle,

You and the pearls both look lovely! Great choice!

Cheers
Ash

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Katbran- not my money, spending HIS money (hehe)
Alex- I'm not giving up, working really hard for that necklace ;)

Gorgeous earrings!! Now for the follow-up - can I suggest a bracelet of similar pearls? I just love the earrings/bracelet combination even more than the necklace/earring combination...

They look beautiful on you, well chosen!

I agree Nerida. Bracelets need a fashion boost. Along with gloves.
Now that we don't have to wear watches (well we don't, with mobiles etc) we should all be wearing bracelets every day.
and evening
Think of Audrey Hepburn in the classic Breakfast at Tiffany's pic with long black gloves and bracelets. Totally fabulous. totally OTT too!
But bracelet and earrings is a great look

Hi Isabelle:
Your earrings are lovely! Thank you for posting them.
I am currently saving to fund a pearl purchase. I need to see "ear shots" like yours.
Like yourself, I am a new "spat" and loving and learning on this forum.
I too, have fallen in love with pearls. My husband sees me on the computer and always says now, (without looking);
"How are the pearls?" I am probably going to have a brain injury from staring at the screen so much.
Today I went for a run, and I could see the blue sky reflecting in some wet mud along the trail. It was a subtle iridescence, and I thought to myself;
"You're going crazy. You're seeing pearls everywhere."
Have a nice day!
Linda.

Hi Linda

also ckeck-out the iridescence you sometimes see in gas stations if there's some petrol and water mixed on the floor

that will really set you off, 'cause it's similar to a peacock's tail....... (as in Tahitian) :cool:
