To all Pearl-Expert, Pearl-Master, Pearl Fan & enthusiasts,

Greetings to all, I am from Borneo Sabah, Malaysia.

I would like to share this new genre of pearls namely Borneo Pearls which are cultured in Sabah, Malaysia.

Did anyone ever approach this type of pearls before?

Its a sea water pearl, where the pearl farm are located off Semporna, some rural island with pollution-free waters combine with tropical temperatures.

Well, I have this website selling this kind of pearls, and if anyone happen to be interested may just check it out here..http://www.borneosabahseapearl.com.my

I am new to online selling and I highly appreciate if anyone can provide me some suggestions or feedback to enhance my site.

Thank you very much.

Did you just make up a new genre of pearls? I see a dyed freshwater pearl necklace, for starters.

I haven't seen anything but 100% genuine cultured Chinese freshwater pearls. Where are the saltwater pinctada maximas that would grow in your area?

This section from your FAQ page was very confusing to me:
"Q. What is the grade your pearls?
Unfortunately, the pearl industry as a whole has not adopted a universally used standard grading system. However, our pearls can be graded as 90% similar to the precious South Sea Pearls as the pearls are from South Sea water."

I also did not see any pearls resembling those grown in salt water on your website.

Your pearls must be something very special because they are more than ten times the price I would charge for similar (Chinese freshwaters). Not that I sell bought in or plated......

We aren't quite as daft as you think

I have a suggestion. Honesty.

The items on your site are freshwater pearls from China.

Your site is new. Either you've been hoodwinked or you are knowingly running a scam. Which one is it?

Besides that, the only pearl farmer in the Semporna area (and quite possibly the whole of Malaysia) is Edward Kong, who retails his product in Kuala Lumpur.

The video on your site appears to have clips ripped from this production:

Wow! It is so cool to see you all in action- And I never said a word, haha.

The horrible thing for the OP is that his game is called, permanently, through this thread, on this site. Even if he deletes this thread--- One click and it's back.

Now don't tell me he didn't remember what he was selling.

How could one possibly "forget" and list something wrong- as worth far more than it is?

It just doesn't happen.

He meant to deceive.

I hope we leave this thread up, maybe rename it to "A Cautionary Tale" or some such? With so many members of Pearl-Guide out looking at websites everyday- it is hard to cheat for very long- and when the iffy sites come here to announce themselves.....oh,oh, watch out.

He has a facebook page. 11 people like it. You can click though from his website, so I did. Let's see how long my message stays up, tee hee.

Don't change the title, Caitlin-- it will be more readily searchable on the Web if it stays just the way it is.

Yep! This is not the place for free adverticing of scams :D

Google Maps

In the video, they put a stick-pin on the location. All I see anywhere in that area is a series of buildings on pilings, with a few boats coming and going. It looks like an ocean villa or compound of boat sheds along an otherwise uninhabited shoreline, not a farm.

I've been wonder if they will even bother to return and tell us about the invariable --- working for an undisclosed friend who's family has been in the pearl business for years --- story.

Hi Sir,

I didn't make up a new genre of pearls, as you know there is a few pearl farm located in Sabah here, and from the pearls harvested there are some South Sea Pearls and some are not. Our pearls products are made from those pearls. Borneo Pearls founded in the year 1998 and still consider a very new genre. If anyone happen to ever visited Sabah before, they must encounter this Borneo/Sabah Pearls before because there is many stalls and shop selling Borneo Pearls at the KKIA(Kota Kinabalu International Airport) and also at Hotels and Resorts around Sabah.

One thing for sure, is that this is DEFINITELY NOT FRESHWATER PEARLS.

Thank you

Hi Sir,

Yes for return we would prefer if Buyer to return it via secured shipping as this is to avoid any circumstances.

30 Days Money Back Guarantee - is a term that if you are not satisfied in any way with the item you purchase you can return for a full refund.

Lifetime Warranty - is for Pearls only, where if the pearls you purchase from us deteriorate in color or luster you can return it and we will replace new for you. For pearls only applicable meaning to say that the metal attachments or hook or any sort of decorative other than pearls are not covered in this term.

Thank you for your comment, we appreciate.

Hi Sir/Madam,

Hi Sir/madam,

I have to admit it that I did pick some of those highlight from this video but not all, anyway the purpose of my video is just to give an impressions on how pearls are cultured and harvested to those who might interested to how pearls are harvested.

The thing for sure is that our pearls is 100% cultured sea water pearl from the pearl farm located off Semporna. This thing I never lied.

Another thing is Edward Kong is not the only person doing pearl farming in Malaysia nor Sabah.

If you happen to come to Sabah for travel, you will notice that there people selling Borneo/Sabah Pearls everywhere, the first place you come to see is at the KKIA (kota kinabalu international airport), there is stalls and shop selling also at hotels and resort.

Thank you

Hi Sir/Madam,

Yeah because Pearls grading are based on luster, size, color, shape, surface texture and maybe some other measurements as well, I do not know how good my pearls grade are..but I can say that its quality can achieved up to 90% as good as the South Sea Pearls.

For your info, sea water pearls/ salt water pearls are very common in our place here in Sabah, ever a marketplace got selling salt water pearl necklace. Many of Malaysian from other state would come to Sabah to seek of these saltwater pearls.
