Boo's pearl earrings

I *love* earrings. I almost never go without, and I have amassed what I think is a fun collection of earrings of the pearl variety. I apologize once more for my inability to take a decent picture (I writhe with jealousy when I see Raisondetre's photos!) but the one below is the best of the several dozen I took.

First row, L-R:

small silver hoops with tiny coin pearls. I love these hoops and interchange the charms on them frequently, but the coin pearls are the ones that were on the hoops originally

small gold pearls I have had for many years. I presume they are FW

FW drops - from eBay

very colorful coins - CoolBead

dyed black FW and tiny gold beads

FW - from eBay

baroque Akoya with blue glass

FW - special b/c my brother brought them back for me from China

Second row:

SS hoops with a trio of FW pearls. I don't generally wear larger hoops b/c my hair gets tangled in them, but I love these - very fun

sm lavender nuggets These match a necklace I made, and I really like wearing them - they're swingy

vintage black pearl dangles

natural pearls from wats2luv - very sweet and dainty

untreated baroque Akoyas - Pearl Paradise

white Freshadamas - Pearl Paradise

Tahitians - eBay

Tahitians - eBay. I really like how the settings accent the circle on the pearls

Cook Is. black keishis - Care Ehret/DruzyDesign - these match a bracelet I have

baroque FW - wats2luv

Third row:

Akoyas with diamond - Pearl Oasis

white South Sea - DruzyDesign

white Kasumi - DruzyDesign

pink/lavender Kasumi - wats2luv

Cook Is. black - DruzyDesign

golden South Sea - DruzyDesign

white FW

pink FW - eBay (Monsoon)

bronze-y FW - eBay (Pearllunar)

Heehee, don't wear much of earrings since I'm a klutz and will most definitely lose them, but this has made me think of starting. Lovely!!! My fav would be the pink kasumis and Cook Island pearls. My penchant for larger pearls is increasing by the minute.

Taking good photos is hard. I've found the best lighting to be indirect morning sunlight, and for some weird reason the macro setting on my digicam (Canon iZoom) doesn't work that well. I use the portrait setting and keep zooming in. If only I had a nice white background to photograph them against. Too little space in my apartment now. When I move I may consider setting up a little workstation in the right spot just to photograph them.

What!!??? No Studs??!!!

Just kidding, an awesome collection, lots of the same sources I use too. You are an inspiration indeed! Thanks for the photos--now I know who snatched those Cook Is keishis---;)

so many pearls, so little time

ps I agree we should always wear earrings.

LOL - I do have a few pairs of studs, but I prefer the look and feel of earrings that can sway and move and catch the light.

Yes, I got the keishis, but I assure you there have been many times where I cursed your name under my breath! :p Actually, many of those items have been out of my league price-wise, so I must admit I was pleased to see you get them - I knew they were going to a good home. There's another reason to love pearl earrings - they are much cheaper than those full strands!

Hmm - I have a Canon too, and perhaps I should avoid the macro setting. I tried using a black background b/c the pearls looked really pretty against it, but the camera really wanted to focus on that instead of the pearls, whereas with the teal it was more willing to focus on the earrings. My biggest problem is that I have a tremor, so even with image-stabilization, I get the little "shaky" symbol.

Fantastic collection Boo! I only have four pairs of pearl earrings myself so I'm impressed by yours :)
Looks like you have a little bit of everything and something to go with every outfit. Do you have a whole other collection of non pearl earrings too?

Hi Boo,

Wow, what a fantastic collection. I also don't wear earrings much, because of the metal allergy I mentioned before. But you really make me aware of what I am missing. Love those Kasumi's..;)

Debbie,

very lovely collection, expecially the Tahitians with the "circled top" and I do like the Cook Islanders very much as well.

Boo, fabulous collection. I'm really impressed. I only have a few pairs of pearl earrings, but what I do have get a lot of use. Can't wait to expand into Tahitians - they look so beautiful. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful! I recognize Carolyn's work in there. I love love love love love love love her designs.

Oh, yeah!! I actually have some more pearl earrings that didn't make the cut, lol. I have a lot of semiprecious stones like tiger's eye and quartz, and a fair number of just plain fun ones, like the Powerpuff girl earrings that my niece got me when she was younger. :p

I have a couple of pairs of Care Ehret's non-pearl pieces, too - everything she does is so fabulous.

I'm with you Salem, it's a whole 'nuther world we are missing. Boo, fantastic collection! The first thing I did was count the pairs. Including what you didn't post, you can probably go two months and not wear the same thing twice. Am I close? How many did you make? I see you definitely have a theme going on.

YUMMY!!!!! I love the Collection Boo!!!

Cheers
Ash

Boo, if you hang just one earring from each pair on your earring rack, you may be able to show us your entire collection (hint, hint!).

Beautiful collection, Boo!

I also am an earring girl- my pearl earring selection is rapidly taking over my jewelry box lol...

I'm flattered that some of our pearls made the cut! :D

Hi Boo,

Having such a vast collection of very beautiful earrings like that would make me late for everything---oh, which ones to wear, which to wear? Maybe this pair. No, how about that pair. Yes, but there's this pair. Yah, but I haven't worn that pair for a while. But this pair just goes with absolutely everything......and so on, and so on.....

WOW Boo what a collection! You inspire me to add to mine. I also want (and need) pearl bracelets. Do you have a few?

Wow! Great collection!

I don't wear earrings myself, but my sister wears earrings everyday. I can totally understand the need to have earring choices. Plus it makes present shopping for her relatively easy:D.

LOL - no, I usually manage to be on time, but I have been known to pick out the earrings first and the outfit is decided from there ;) , and I have also been known to wear more than one pair on a given day...

I do have some bracelets, including the killer black keishis that match the earrings, but I tend to be pretty hard on them so they are mostly the cheaper beading pearls that I wouldn't be devastated to scratch up. Bracelets do have the great advantage of being easy to admire while being worn however... I also have several anklets, which don't get as much abuse as the bracelets and are lots of fun to wear.
