It's a public holiday in Australia today so I had a bit of time to get into my beading projects.

Tahitians from Jac strung on beaders secret in coal with a clasp from PP. I love the look of the ball clasp but honestly it's incredibly difficult to get on and off. I'll probably restring with a different clasp when I get the chance.

Thanks baby nurse!

Unfortunately I also managed to do this...

Oh yeah..been there... at least it's just thread! I now have two little pearls that have a broken peg in them... aarrrgggghhhh !

Gorgeous pearls ! Are they Jac's ? Really very pretty !! And I agree totally...I hate ball clasps. I'm working with someone in Venice Fla at the moment and she wants a ball clasp on a rope of mixed GSS WSS and Grey T's - I'm like.../not a good idea...she has some arthritis and I can't imagine fiddling with that sort of clasp. I'm suggesting the Orbit ... assuming she doesn't want diamonds...

Lovely bracelet. It looks great on your wrist. It's a job well done indeed. I'm particularly attracted to the aubergine pearl there.

Oh no! Is it possible to remove the peg?

I love the look of the ball clasp - it's so cute! But yeah, very impractical especially on a bracelet. I need to order some orbit clasps.

Yep the pearls are all from Jac. They are from his circled peacock mix and various multi colour mixes (circled and near round).

Thank you! I love aubergine pearls. I'd love to own a cherry or aubergine strand.

Gorgeous bracelet, hanadama! I cannot use the ball clasps either, except one PP did for me. I wanted that bracelet to be on the longer side, and fall down on my wrist ... I can gently roll it on and off without opening lol. My bad hands are not arthritis, but I really can't use anything but orbits. How I wish we'd see more styles of orbits ... I long for gem trimmed orbits, etched or textured orbits, 14/18k ROSE gold, sigh ... Katbran if your customer wants to talk to someone with bad hands, send her to me :)

Happy Canada Day to our Canadian friends!

Yes! Different orbit clasps in varying sizes, metals, finishes and diamond/gemstone details!

Beautiful bracelet and lovely pearls. I love the ball clasps on a necklace, but never on a bracelet. I have an ombré bracelet of Tahitians and akoya from PP that I wear so much more now that I had them replace the fishhook clasp with an orbit. So much easier to use. I used to have to leave an extra five minutes in the morning just to fasten the fishhook on my bracelet, and even then I sometimes had to give up.

The easiest way to get that thread out is to get hold of a 0.7 drill bit and simply drill it out. The most important thing is to keep the drill bit absolutely straight and level - it is not flexible so if you wobble when holding the drill/pearl it will snap and make things possibly worse.

Gorgeous bracelet! I've dealt with stuck thread by using fine tweezers to help work out the knot a bit then clipping with shears. Thread can then be pulled out with tweezers. Good luck!

Thanks Wendy & MSC! I'll give it a shot!

I tried to get the thread out with a needle but they are really stuck!

I love the look of a ball clasp, because it mimics the shape of the pearls, but I hate the opening and closing mechanism. I've replaced almost all of mine with orbit clasps. Love those. And they link together nicely and you can hang dangles off them.

Although, my all time favorite clasp is the Mikimoto clasp. It's a flat fishhook, but it's a BIG, easy to use flat fishhook, and it's pretty. I do not like the little fiddly fish hooks, which is basically what the ball clasps are.

I do have screw type ball clasps on some of my ropes, but I also never undo those.

And those pearls are gorgeous.

I don't know if you have a pearl drill but i've redrilled on the same hole before to unstuck a very stubborn thread.

Absolutely stunning bracelet.

I have had the dreaded stuck knot happen to me too...I bought a pair of surgical tweezers (found them at the medical supply store) which worked beautifully to grab the thread by the knot. Once I was able to loosen a portion of the knot, it slipped right out.

Thank you! Any suggestions for pearl drills?

Jersey Pearl - ohh surgical tweezers might work. I tried two different tweezers with no luck however neither are surgical.

I have used my teeth to pull out thread. I've also ran the needle through the hole as well. Be sure when you pull the thread, there isn't a knot o the other side. If there is, pull from the knot.
