Atrina rigina, or stiff pen shell, pearl farming

Hey all,

I am looking to start my own farm with stiff pen shells, which produce black pearls, anybody have any experience with this type of pearl farming?

What experience do you have with the Atrina rigina, or the pearls produced from this mollusk. Natural pearls come from this shell but they are rare, and often they are non-nacreous, so they have very little value in jewelry and can break apart easily.
