Are they real? Are they ssp? How much it costs?

Hi everyone, it's my girlfriend's earrings she told me that it was given to her by her father and told her that its a south sea pearl earrings, we don't have any idea about the pearl so I post it here if it is REAL SSP and HOW MUCH would it cost for such pearl. I hope someone will enlighten us. Thanks.

On my screen they appear to be peach-colored freshwater pearls, not South Sea pearls. They also appear to be too small to be SSP.

Do they look similar to to these pink pearls?

hi jshperd thanks for the reply, i think its the cellphone casing which is pink that is making the pearls look like peach in your screen maybe or maybe its the camera. coz it doesnt appear to be peach its a bit gold but i agree with the size of the pearl which you showed me in that link. how about this in a different background?

It looks like it was dyed and the lustre does not have that soft sheen satin feel/look that south sea pearls have. ...but I could be wrong
But no matter what it is, we value pearls for their beauty and their sentimental value, it's a beautiful gift.

Jeremy is an expert in South Sea Pearls, and buys many every year. He says the size of the earrings is too small for South Sea and others of us agree. So they are real freshwater pearls that have been dyed that color. Very common in the Philippines to sell freshwater pearls as "baby South Sea." Not expensive to buy, under $50 most likely. Hopefully the Father didn't get cheated.

I agree with Pattye. Based on size alone, they are most likely not south Sea pearls, but they are very pretty.

I agree the OP studs look like Freshwater pearls. In this case it's the sentimental value that's important. I do hope he didn't overpay. The markets do tend to call most pearls " South Sea" . I've had friends return from Manila with huge long ropes of Freshwater flame all pearls , 24mm , and tell me about the great 200$ strands of South Sea pearls they bought. I didn't argue it so as not to embarrass them in front of the others . I figured they paid a fair price for the Freshwater .

As for the GSS ..very pretty ! With Jewelmer you know what your getting!! Lol
