Hi! Are these natural saltwater pearls? Small cultured pearls? A different kind of pearl? Thanks so much!

They look like low quality cultured akoyas to me.
This was the picture he showed me when he was explaining what they were, but I think you’re right! Plus, some of the little pearls on mine almost have a silvery rainbow sheen which doesn’t look like one he showed me. I’m glad I didn’t waste money on an x-ray! Thanks again!

Those also look like low quality akoyas!
Lol! Maybe they are both low quality akoyas, but the ones on Etsy were tested as natural. I still don’t plan spending the money on special X-ray testing to find out though! Thanks again!

With the certification from a well-known laboratory, assuming the cert is not a counterfeit (unlikely given the moderate value here), it seems odd that your jeweler recommended an independent X-Ray analysis. The bigger question is whether you are/were attracted to the pearls.

Sorry I was looking at the 2 photos in the lower part of the photo, which I think were just your pearls.

the top picture is natural pearl, the two in hand look like low quality akoya, with very thin and often irregular coat on shell bead.
