We found this necklace locked in a safe while cleaning out my grandma's house.
I have no idea whether they are real or costume jewelry.
There is a 14K stamp on the clasp so that leads me to believe they are but I really have no idea!

Thank you!
Julie

Love the clasp. I'm not sure about the pearls. They're rather baroque in shape, so either freshwater pearls from China, or baroque akoyas.

What size are the pearls in millimeters?

Roughly 9 millimeters, they aren't perfectly round so are a little longer than others.

They look like baroque akoya pearls to me. Love the clasp.

Like the others, I agree these are baroque Akoya pearls, in a desirable large size. Recommend you restring them yourself or have them restrung as I can see the thread is stretched by the clasp, and likely weakened from age. Bead tips like those aren't used much anymore to finish a classic necklace, French Wire is preferred. You can find detailed instructions to restring it yourself with knots between each pearl here:

bagtime,
They look like dyed freshwater pearls to me, but what is the metal marked?

I agree. Dyed Freshwater pearls...

Love that clasp and hope you get many years of joy wearing your pearls

I love the clasp on the akoyas too, and second (or third?) the dyed freshwaters on the second necklace.
