Abalone and silver modernist Mexican sculpture of Madonna (Los Castillo, Taxco)

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. The services were this weekend and it was a nice celebration of my mother's life. I am starting to find some peace and closure now that I have taken care of that for her. I miss my mother terribly, but for her sake I am glad she is finally at peace. She fought a long battle with Alzheimer's and it was particularly bad in the final 6 months.

This little statue is a lovely reminder of two strong, kind, loving women in my life. My aunt was the one who told me whenever I take a trip, I should buy a special piece of art or jewelry as a reminder, so this statue is a memento of this part of the journey.
