A Year of Pearls in the Life of a Pre-K Teacher:

I love how silvery those akoyas are and how creamy the triple strands are. yum, yum.

DAY 86:

I had completely forgot I own this sweet little double akoya graduated necklace. I suspect the nacre is thin on these tinies -- but given I don't wear the necklace -- it'll last forever! I paired it with Mikimoto earrings since they also have very small akoya. This is normally too dainty of a style for my taste, but a nice change:

Those are lovely!

I specially like the setting of the Miki earrings.

I remember those beautiful earrings! Won at a raffle or auction at your kids' school. Gorgeous gold design!

I don't recall the double strand but they're great with the earrings!

baby nurse -- yes! I "won" (= bought) them at my kids' fundraiser! Years ago.

The necklace is from the jewelry store you and I went to together when we first met...

Sigh, that store had a lot of nice items in it. Pearly and non-pearl.

It's such a pretty example of a nestled double strand! I don't think it looks too dainty, it's classic.

DAY 87:

Here's another piece I never wear because the pearls feel too small for me at this age. These are my first ever pearls. My parents bought them for me in HK about 43 years ago! I assume, though they're small, that the nacre is thicker than what would be sold today. However, since I don't wear them, it doesn't matter much. I wore these pearls to my wedding (and no, he doesn't look at me like that any more -- that ended decades ago):

What marvelous pictures!! Thanks for sharing, BAS :)

Those pearls are the perfect complement to your dress.

I think delicate pearls can look just right ... ie. those graceful Miki earrings ... and your lovely wedding photos BAS. Beautiful pearls and beautiful people, then AND now :) And we still have an akoya surprise to look forward to ?

I love your wedding pearls. They're not too small on you now. I really like them.
