I had completely forgot I own this sweet little double akoya graduated necklace. I suspect the nacre is thin on these tinies -- but given I don't wear the necklace -- it'll last forever! I paired it with Mikimoto earrings since they also have very small akoya. This is normally too dainty of a style for my taste, but a nice change:
Here's another piece I never wear because the pearls feel too small for me at this age. These are my first ever pearls. My parents bought them for me in HK about 43 years ago! I assume, though they're small, that the nacre is thicker than what would be sold today. However, since I don't wear them, it doesn't matter much. I wore these pearls to my wedding (and no, he doesn't look at me like that any more -- that ended decades ago):
I think delicate pearls can look just right ... ie. those graceful Miki earrings ... and your lovely wedding photos BAS. Beautiful pearls and beautiful people, then AND now And we still have an akoya surprise to look forward to ?
