A Year of Pearls in the Life of a Pre-K Teacher:

DAY 3:

One 4 year old girl had her paws on the pendant and I told her she can't touch my jewelry!

Aw BAS, how can you expect her to resist a pendant that looks like it has lime crystals inside? I do so love your new set from Hisano. I'm sure your students will be very curious about your jewelry. My 6 and 4 year old daughters are fascinated with my collection.

Ooh, that is a tough one.

On the one hand, the little ones don't know better and are fascinated; on the other hand, they do have to learn not to lay hands on other people without invitation, and that includes their jewelry.

I like Red's suggestion about bringing in some pearls for them to handle, if you have any that you would be okay with using for this purpose. (And if not, message me, I'm sure I could send you some.)

Pearl Dreams -- that's very sweet! I was actually thinking something along those lines -- except not only having pearls to handle, but pearls to give each child -- perhaps at the end of the year as a little goodbye gift. We'll see...!

How many kiddos do you teach?

Each Pre-K class has 20 children, a lead teacher, and two assistants. Often, there are 4 and even 5 adults in the room, though. There's still a lot of crying for Mama -- which I know will be well over by Halloween.

Lovely look, BAS! What kind of earrings are those? I can't see them very well.

I would have loved to have had such an attractive and beautifully pearled teacher!
This is a great thread.

Wow, gorgeousness all over the place!!! Your kids are going to be so pearl spoiled they are going to look at the cheap stuff and know immediately that is not what good quality pearls look like. The thought of a pearl gift to each student at the end is so sweet.

Wow, gorgeous! Are those Pkins ombres? or did you have a set made up, I can't remember.

I bought these when I was at PP interviewing Hisano for the live chat. And it was pkinnew who turned me on to the ombre set!
