I will start by saying I am a "small" eBay seller (less than 1,500 feedbacks in over ten years) however I do care about what I sell & my reputation to give the most accurate and honest descriptions which is what brought me here. I love pearls but I rarely wear them, Some were handed down to me & others I purchased at estate sales etc. So I'm hoping maybe someone here can give me their thoughts on what type of pearls I have. All are set in 10k - 14k gold except the Sterling wide CZ banded ring which I don't think is a real pearl. big rare baroque pearl pendant12-13mm natural gold pearl pendant Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The white gold ring hallmark I haven't been able to find any info on, I also have some pearl necklaces that were my Moms I can post as well & again thanks for any input.

Welcome, Teresa R,

If these pieces are over 20 years old and in karat gold, most likely they are all Akoya cultured pearls from Japan. The pearls appear to be very round, which would indicate a mother of pearl bead center. Cultured freshwater pearls from China were very "rice krispie" shaped at that time. Can you tell if the pearl in the sterling/cz ring is set on a post?

Not certain what the dark pearls/beads earrings are. A close up of them like the other stud earrings would be helpful. Can you estimate their size in mm?

The white gold ring is very attractive. Lots of gold there! And a pretty pearl!! Perhaps someone else can help with the hallmark.

Hi Teresa, You are welcome

what the pearl size in the ring ?

you are new in pearl ?

actually we can not give 100% right opinion from the photo, my suggestion for you because your photo not really good, you search on the net
1. South Sea Pearl
2. Freshwater Pearl
3. Akoya Pearl

from the information you get, which one is near to your pearls. or you can give us here the best quality photo that maybe other member can give opinion.

Good Luck

Thank you Pattye & Sinju. Let me know if these photos help, The black pearls are 14k white gold with a small diamond, the yellow gold ring with rubies, jade and large pearl is 14k . The sterling ring I believe is on a post.. I've worn it the most and it's never sustained damage even from it hitting things, but it doesn't have that "sandy grit" feeling to the tooth. The black colored pearls are 14k white gold with a small diamond. The pearl in the white gold ring is 8mm, someone on eBay forums said they thought it was a Mabe pearl? I will measure the other pearls and post in the morning. Our AAA Grade of Golden South Sea Pearls

Sinju, I didn't realize how many pearls I actually had until recently and remembered last night when adding the photos that I have multiple pearl necklaces with gold clasp and a double graduated strand with a old sterling clasp.

Is the pearl in the white gold ring round? It doesn't look like a mabe to me. Does it have a flat bottom? Also the pearl and gemstone ring, is that pearl round?

The dark pearls seem to have a drop shape with some rings near the top where they are attached. They could possibly be Tahitians.

The loose pearl is a pretty shade, approx what size is it? Is it undrilled?

The round white pearls in the earrings would be Akoya cultured pearls. Love the yellow and rose leaves, so pretty!

Just Opinion
1. the first photo 14kg rose with yellow gold if the size less then 10mm for me it is not south sea pearl, maybe it is akoya, from what i know akoya size is small, but iam not have good knowledge in akoya.

-the fist photo loose pearl is bigger size, maybe it s freshwater.

2. photo number 2 i have no idea

3. photo number 3 same i do not know

4. photo no 4-5 if the color is silver I can say it is south sea

photo no. 6 the black one for me is not pearl, other maybe akoya.

in china also they make pearl from shell, it is beautiful, i found some in ebay and in my place, tie it with Rhodium you need also learn about it, maybe one of your pearl made from this.
