I confess I hoard pearls, yarn, looms, spinning wheels, knitting needles, books, art, shoes. After watching an episode of Hoarders, I get really good at weeding out stuff I'm not using. Currently I'm rehoming knitting needles. Unfortunately, I'm replacing them with other knitting needles, so it's a wash.

baby nurse-- even though I have been following this thread since the beginning, I recently started re-reading it again from the beginning and it is still pretty amazing. It's like re-reading a book, you get something different the second time around. The first time I was overwhelmed by your pearls ( still am), but now I'm looking with an eye towards the outfits and pairings as well. Terrific!

Thank YOU, BN, for taking so much time to do such a superb job. You also might be surprised if you were to re- read the thread to see how you have evolved; not just since you started collecting, but even in the year since you started posting this thread. Your style and choice in pearls evolved and your layering as well. It's really very interesting and fun! It made me look at how my pearly purchases have changed and evolved over the years and how you and all the PGers have influenced that for me as well. Looking forward to seeing your HK and Kojima pieces.

Day 342:

New feather pearl necklace from Kojima Pearl, metallic freshwater dangles.















So I bought this wonderful feather pearl necklace from the recent Kojima Pearl sale. The day it arrived in the mail I thought “I have to take pictures of this with one of the hens!”

As I love pearls and adore my hens, pictures of the two together are treasures. But as much as I feel both worlds should merge, sometimes my chickens just don’t want to wear pearls.

Here is Emerald as a chick (far right). She is the friendliest and most easygoing of 7 we picked up in May.


This hen is darling and her coloring is perfect for the necklace. Also, they’re feather pearls. But she wasn’t having it. Each time I tried to slide the pearls over her head, she backed up or intercepted them with her beak. Sharing a couple of pictures anyway.

Thats so funny Babynurse, her escaping the pearls. My kitten did the same, I put a strand on her, she bolted away with it and dumped it on the downstairs floor. Both kitten and pearls escaped without harm. She did steel some loose pearls some days ago, bounced them on the floor in the middle of the night, very funny according to cat. I had to get up and retrieve them and cover the other pearls up. Sturdy pearls I have to say. Beautiful pearls and beautiful coloring on Emerald.

Beautiful pearls, BN. I love the texture & colors of the feather pearls. So funny that Emerald didn't want to wear the pearls. Her coloring is perfect for those! I've never tried to put pearls on my Rotties. They don't even like wearing bandanas & it's hard to keep them still long enough to snap a pic!

I've asked PP about the ginormous soufflé pearls before but I may reach out to them again. Right now, I've got 2 projects in the works...one with Sheri for an Octopus statement necklace & the other is a Victoria Grayson Revenge Rope. Purr started a fire under me with that one. Anyway, I digress so back to topic.
Great find on your Kojima Feather necklace! It looks wonderful on you paired with the metallic dangles!!
