The cake took forever to make but I had the help of my youngest so it was fun (ahem, at least part of the time, there were a few headaches along the way ie the early phases of baking took place during a play date in my house involving neighbor kids, guinea pigs and an insulted young rooster *and* there was an unexpected last minute run to the grocery store for fresh lemon, limes, heavy cream etc...). We’ve eaten over half of it, a good thing since cake doesn’t remain yummy forever. Haha, the pearls of course do and I would choose them any day of the week over cake!
