Ebay find 20 years ago 2nd bargain!

I'm so sorry that no one has responded to your post since last November. I believe these are called "disk" pearls and they are inexpensive Chinese freshwater pearls. Also, they have really cool machines that position, drill and thread in one smooth process. That's probably why they need to be...

    My "Pearling" Story...

Feeling "blue" today. Love these 6-7mm lumpy-bumpy high-luster baroque "akoya" rejects...they make such a beautiful statement. The clasp is 14K white gold with a tiny emerald in the middle. Don't you love the "whale tail" connection to the clasp where the strands connect. This type of...

@PearlDreams gives such great and detailed advice. I truly hope you are able to help your mother with her financial situation. Having been there once myself, I know those challenges. These are lovely pearls. I'm sure she had many happy events wearing them.

    Found at a thrift store

The good news is, as you learn more and more, you'll be more experienced at finding really cool things at thrift stores. I wish I had more time to comb thrift stores...because there are truly some remarkable finds there. Children often don't know what is valuable and what is costume when...

    My "Pearling" Story...

Oh my goodness, has it really been since last October since I posted a necklace...Yikes. I've missed you all. Last November, my son-in-law, who has a congenital heart defect and is now in his early 30's, experienced a serious health episode while on vacation in Scotland. At home he drinks lots...

    My pearls

This was actually covered on the Pearl Forum in a thread...that's where I learned why that type of strand is so named. BeadersSecret Professional Rethreader JoinedMar 23, 2006Messages508 Dec 9, 2020 #1 Most of us have heard of the “tin cup necklace”. But did you know that it was designed by...

How Do You Store Your Pearls? Show Us!

Nilecorp.com has the best price on pearl folders and they come in gray/pink/Tiffany blue/white/black. I use an Avery clear tape with black writing on my folders to tell what's inside and use pink, gray and white, based on the value of my pearls. They store flat and upright in my plastic...

Paspaley "LAVALIER" perfect 15mm round pearl necklace

The luster is absolutely stunning. I really like the pearl net, but with that fantastic luster I almost want to just look at it outside of the pendant! The whole set is outstanding, both in quality and in style. Enjoy them! Someday I'd like to purchase a pearl at Paspaley...someday.

Influencer Marketing's Impact on Consumer Trust and Purchase Behavior in the UK Pearl Jewellery Industry

Truthfully, I believe you are trying to string me along. I'm just trying to clasp the situation and see if you are serious or knot. Your comments on this story are just not natural and definitely not cultured. I guess I'll just head South to Sea.

Stacking pearls with other types of necklaces?

I layer pearls and chains all the time...I love that look! Plus, I love wearing my chains and my pearls. Tiny pearls especially layer well with several chains. That is the style right now.

    Help identify this Pearl Ring

I would have the diamonds tested; they appear pretty dirty and cleaning them properly will be difficult because you don't want to damage the pearl. The pearl appears to me to be a South Sea, slightly off round-perhaps an 11-13mm. The coloring on the photo makes it look more silvery...which could...

First pearls, possibly from Ming's of Honolulu. Are these blue Akoya?

There are some cool threads about blue Akoya pearls and that it is actually unwanted organic matter when they are "seeded" that causes the bluish color. Mikimoto rejected these pearls for years, and then, somehow, some designer saw them and there was a market for them. I too love the bluish...

Buyer and Seller Responsibilities Regarding Shipping

I was on the "buyer" end of a fiasco from EBay/PayPal. My over $500 purchase was shipped USPS (no signature, just tracking). The tracking said it was "placed in mailbox" but the package was never there. Because packages are scanned by the main post office it showed "delivered." I later learned...

First pearls, possibly from Ming's of Honolulu. Are these blue Akoya?

Based on your photos, I would say yes, these are on the blue spectrum. The seem to be more gray than blue, but I do see some blue tint on some that is more pronounced. There is also some pinkish tones on some of the pearls. Nice strand gray to blue. Excellent antique find.
