Hello Pearl Friends: I am just perusing these last couple pages .... and what lovely pearls I see. Dizzie; love those bracelets (hope they don't cause a car crash, lord knows I am at risk driving with a pearl bracelet), Luminous; whoa baby, that necklace is truly luminous, very iridescent. And...

    Baroque Tahitians from PP!

That looks like a really gorgeous strand. The colours and lustre are great. The "imperfections" look minor and normal to me. And lastly, the shape of the pearls are wonderful. Well done! Linda.

    My first knotted strand!

Very, very nice. Normally I wouldn't be too keen on spacers, but those gold ones look lovely with the colour of those pearls. Well done!

    Tahitian Pearls: Industry Leader.

Yes Diane; I think Robert Wan is a good comparison. But, you will pay top price for Robert Wan pearls. I bet you could get pearls just as nice as Robert Wan pearls from a different vendor (one of the vendors found on this site), for a much lower price. Sometimes you are paying extra just for...

    Damaged or natural

Hello Petra: the photos are a bit too "far away" for us to see clearly. If your camera has a "flower" setting, maybe you can take a photo closer to the pearls. Most pearls have some type of imperfections; lines or spots. Pearls which are perfect are very rare, and very expensive. Your pearls...

    Newbie and need opinions

Hello Skyman: It may seem to you that we are pushing one Vendor on you, (Pearl Paradise), but that is only because we have met the proprietor in person, and have bought his pearls. The prices and the pearls are excellent. There are other vendors on this website who are also very good. If you...

    Show us your Tahitians

Hello LitGeek: Thank you for the complements. My strand has graduated pearls, and I think the biggest (in front) are about 11mm, maybe a bit more. The neck shot shows a lot of bright colour, but it is influenced by the siding on my house ... which is a pastel turquoise ... (believe it or not)...

    Newbie - first purchase questions

Wendy gives some good advice regarding what to wear with the pearls. I also felt a bit nervous wearing my strand .... I wanted to wear it (a baroque tahitian strand) with casual clothes like jeans .... and sometimes I just force myself to wear it, and go out the door. Like the Nike commercial...

    Newbie - first purchase questions

I'm with Urchin; I'd get the larger pearls. They won't be huge, but they'll be awesome. :-) Welcome to Pearl-Guide. This is a great place to learn, and get even more addicted .... and maybe in debt. Linda.

    natural or synthetic nuclei?

Caitlin; I'm sad to see you so upset. It is a simple misunderstanding really. And besides, perhaps Dave only meant that his time is done with regards to that particular thread. It doesn't mean that he is leaving us forever. All is well, I'm sure. Linda.

Photo comparison Photo comparison I like this idea of photo comparisons. I agree that usually the vendor photo looks a little more colourful than the real thing, but I also agree that vendors usually are the most skilled pearl photographers, and I also agree that eventually you learn to...
