    PP Monthly: Tahitian Earrings

These are so gorgeous and the price is great, but they'd be heeeyuuuge on me. Even 6mm studs look big on my ears. But the PP special was my gateway drug to buy Kamoka keishi studs from Kojima. I neglected to save their photos of the little leaf-like ones I bought, but here's the similar pair...

    Paua pearls ending soon

Very nice! Their SSP keishi selection is pretty awesome too. One has to be cautious, of course, but it's hard to beat eBay for variety.

What I did with the Beaders special

Gorgeous work! Can't wait to see bridal jewelry! I'm currently wearing the mixed strand I posted, made from the Beader's Special rounds-- I wear it all the time and adore it. Jeremy-- the Beader's Special sale page was still up last time I checked. Can we still buy, or do you have other...

    Paua pearls ending soon

Agustus collection has several paua pearls up that seem low in price and are ending soon. Can't vouch for seller or pearls, but thought that might be of interest to PGers. :) Here are all the naturally occurring pearls they have listed.

    Freshwater Vs. Saltwater

I think one of the engagement ring threads included a discussion about durability. It'll be interesting to know if freshwater nacre is less dense. If so, I'll probably wash, rather than wipe, what I suspect are unusually acidic skin oils off mine more frequently. I've always interpreted...

    World Pearl Forum

Let's take that goal to the next level. PGers not encumbered by business ties/responsibilities attend similar forums in future decked as collectors and aficionados. One mention of this sand business and we shriek like Victorians in a house of ill repute and feign a dead swoon. Bonus points if...

    Tucson Purchases

Everything is amazing-- you have excellent taste! :) The findings look great-- I found Kimarie Designs www.kimariedesigns.com a while back and they told me they can make white gold versions at a customer's request.

    My experience with Power Pro

I use a razor-sharp pocketknife for the ends I'll be threading through a needle and then the zapper for finishing the final knots-- sometimes the zapped ends gets melty and hard, and I don't want them to abrade the rest of the PP or even get stuck in a drill-hole as I'm stringing.

    Oh My God! Pp Monthly!!

To echo Heidi, one can eliminate the need for post-processing with setup, particularly if the photo's ultimate destination is the web because most web images are 72dpi. Everyone here probably knows this, but since "Photoshopping" is colloquially synonymous with radically changing an image--...

    Oh My God! Pp Monthly!!

Wow, gorgeous. I just couldn't work it out financially, but I'm telling myself that we see untreated akoya from time to time, and we will again. And I'll be ready. :D

    Keishi crazy

Hehehe, that's extremely, extremely flattering coming from you, given your experience and expertise. And I have to confess-- "a little tiring" was once "could barely use my right hand for three days" because I just couldn't stop working on a 48" strand of 8mm FWs using that method. ;)

    Keishi crazy

Oooh, very nice work! I may be misunderstanding-- knotting double or triple length pieces isn't much harder or more perilous than 16-18" if you are working with multiple strands of silk/powerpro/whatever and put all the pearls on before knotting. Passing the finished portion through the knot...

That's really interesting-- do you know where the lead enters the production/finishing process?

A Graphic Illustration of Ocean Acidification

Acidification is also a good way to illustrate that there isn't just one "school of global warming" which requires people to believe in a certain set of outcomes. Humans are, quite clearly, altering the planet. If we change it enough -- specifics of hot, cold, CO2, SO2, etc. notwithstanding --...

    TPO Valentines Day Sale!

I was biting my tongue about the onyx + pearl strand. The contrast is undeniable. Must... not... snark about well-meaning people. :)

    TPO Valentines Day Sale!

Not that we're trying to badger you into consumerism, Callire, but all pearls go with a collared white shirt! :)

You know, I actually don't follow any news blogs or communities on a daily basis right now. I started working in news media about 2 years ago, so I try to read lots of primary sources. I used to read Slate and Salon frequently when they were getting started. DKos was my occasional unicorn...

    Another question about pearls

If you have or suspect you have metal sensitivities, watch out for those plated clasps. A reaction on the neck is no fun at all.

Just got last months PP special ( cfwp black double strand)

Gorgeous, congratulations! I was seriously tempted by those. Does your daughter have a "play dress up" strand?
