    Delicacies of the roundness

Eric, I really love what you do. The nacre has an orient to it after carving. Love.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

I am also getting these from Wendy of Pearlescence. She is in HK right now. These are freshwater. I cannot stay away from them, despite the longevity issue: they are so lustrous.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

Tsavorite marquis. No holes. Show you design on Sunday. Cees really helped me today. I asked for lower price and he went round looking for best prices. I felt terrible making him do this for me. He is after all a pearl person (and a very good one too). But he got the gems and colour I...

Ok, I see So moisture is good for them.

    South Sea Pearl Nacre Thickness

I am confused. Jeremey posted to say that plastic bags are a big no no for pearls as this dries them out. Which is it?

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

I asked Cees to buy me tsavorites. He is at the fair. So here they are. Planning to use them on the Southsea pearls. I think green with a huge white pink pearl makes it look like it is sitting on a lily pad. Very frog and the prince. On Sunday, Cees will let me have a quote from his...

Lovely. I always think pearls go very well with coloured gems. I think yours are really lovely. And the designs are great!

    South Sea Pearl Nacre Thickness

I read on the GIA WEbsite that lustre of pearls corresponds to nacre thickness. Is that correct? I am confused: are lustre and thickness of nacre two different issues? So that Lustre can fade but nacre remains thick. Or is it such that if nacre is thick, then lustre is also best, so...

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

That's good to know, that in those conditions, the freshwaters survived well. I am still keen on FWPs, as lustre wise, they can be very awesome. I am somewhat apprehensive about my SSP purchase as I am new to SSP - don't know what to look for but this forum has been so useful. I am also...

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

Here is the other one. It is a pair. I love Pearl buyers when they go to fairs. I wake up and there is that whatsapp message with lots of wonderful gobstoppers.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

So Cees delivered today. I bought this pair. 16 mm. I know these are not AAA, but I think lustre is good. Cees says it has a pink glow. I am asking him to set them as rings, since they have blemishes. If you have any comments please let me know. New to all this. I am not even...

You All See This PP Blog Post???

Lovely pearls. I never thought I would catch the pearl bug. I have always thought of SSPs as white. The golds are beautiful. Can I ask, is it a flat gold? I think GSSPs have a pink hue. I have never looked at one before. I did not think about them until today, when I read this post...

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

Jeremy taking it out from a sealed plastic bag is no different from you taking out your pendant from your vault. You say that yours has deteriorated over the years and it has been kept in a vault. Jeremy is saying that his was kept in a drawer in a sealed plastic bag and it looks the same...

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

Ok. It is just slightly difficult to swallow, that you had the entire harvest for 2012. I don't know, just one of those things. Like when Honora says they buy up all the Ming pearls.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

So before 2012, you had worked with that supplier of Edison pearls. Which year did you first start to work with them? It is ok. No need to state supplier. I find Edisons fascinating so it is good ot hear a bit of when they started.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

'Having worked with 'Edison' pearls since the very first harvest' Which year was this, London Pearl? 'and having had the largest suppliers entire harvest consigned to me a few years ago' Which year was this, London Pearl, and if I may ask, which supplier? Grace? Thank you.

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

Lovely Baroque, London Pearl. As for passing down jewellery, I am more a gem person. I will pass mine down to my children. Thank you for alerting us to the possibility of Edisons not lasting that long. I shall, when my baroques return from the safe, post a picture of it here. I should be...

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

I am glad someone actually said this. I have Edisons from 2012. They look the same. And even if these don't last, I am having fun with them. SSPs won't last forever either. These Edison's are so opal-like I love them. Regarding vested interests, where do you sit on the fence? SSPs?

    Southsea Pearl vs Edison Pearls

How did these early harvest ones turn out? How long ago were they? To be honest, all this rhetoric just shows we don't have definite answers after all.
