    Deep rings in baroque pearls

I just realize that it may have read as if I was still looking for pictures from you, and what I meant was I was still looking for a picture (myself) to show you what I was talking about. The closest I've come is this strand on eBay...

    Deep rings in baroque pearls

That ugliest pearl thread was a lot of fun. I do like ringed pearls. That's part of why I'm searching through baroque pearls. It's the ones I've seen that seem to have cuts into the surface, like if you'd spun it against a sharp pointed chisel and it leaves a sharp edged ditch (teeny but...

Can you help me with this maker's mark? ... or the value of this necklace?

The other stamp would seem to indicate that the clasp is Platinum.

    Deep rings in baroque pearls

Hi Patty, These are freshwater pearls I'd seen at Tucson. I mentioned the Tahitian pearls because the same subject came up in that area. I didn't buy them because I thought they looked a bit odd. There were deep gouges and no luster in the dips, just sort of dull. It just looked machined to...

Multi-Strand (3 or more) Necklace Challenge!

I looked at the one Imanit posted and the pearls seem to be held inside a bar of some sort. Is that correct?

Multi-Strand (3 or more) Necklace Challenge!

Hi Patty, Thanks for the suggestions. Here's where I get stuck - First strand, do you start at the top or in the middle ring of the triple clasp? Then, when you go to attach the second strand, bullion on silk through the next ring, do you just drop the entire first strand and both ends of the...

    Deep rings in baroque pearls

I saw a mention in a Tahitian pearls thread that it was normal to have some chalkiness in the bottom of a ring on the pearls. I read another posting that talked about how the rings are likely formed as the pearl turns inside the oyster/mussel/clam. What I'm wondering about is different pearls...

Multi-Strand (3 or more) Necklace Challenge!

I need help with one step before I can contribute. How do you attach multiple strands when you're using bullion? One person said they start theirs on jump rings and then attach those to the clasp. Any other ways? Thanks, Cecilia

    John Tu's Pearls

Reading back through this thread it looks like he is only at the Gem Faire shows in Hillsboro? That's about a 2 hr drive for me. Is there any way to confirm his being there ahead of time? Thanks, Cecilia

What type of Pearls bracelet is this?

Patty, I've seen some FW pearls with rings that almost look like they were cut in with a lathe or some kind of blade. Not the soft indentations, but rather sharp dips. Is this caused during formation too? Cecilia

Opinions on Pearl (is this real)

Daniel, I clicked on your .com site and got a strange warning message. It would not let me cut and paste the error. It had the https slashed out and said something like SSL Error This is probably not the site you're looking for. You attempted to reach www.danielmoesker.com , but instead...

    Attaching to a triple clasp

Hello Folks, I'm fairly comfortable knotting pearls and finishing a single strand with bullion. I can't quite figure out how you would do this with a triple strand. Do you just start and finish as usual but move two and then three strands through as you knot? Any pointers? Thanks, Cecilia
