Can Someone Please Identify My Pearls

I'm not from the US (i'm studying here tho), but I went on a pearl tour in a town famous for culturing pearls in Vietnam. We went to 3 national famous pearl brands. One sold me dyed black akoya claiming to me it was "natural color" (I didn't know anything about pearls back then), one has some...

What to do with articles like this?

Well the knowledge and preference for pearl quality of fashionistas and pearl lovers can be different. I prefer "garish" colored pearls (terms borrowed from kojima pearl's post lol) so pearls being too white (aka lack of overtones) and from brand names are not really my taste. Also why dont they...

What pearls are these likely to be?

Those are freshwater pearls. Wear them if you like them but not selling because their price is going to be very low.

    Vietnamese Blue Akoya Pearls

I heard pearls in warm water have thicker nacre? Also if you buy from reputable vendors the pearls should have decent nacre thickness? BTW, as a Vietnamese, I am ashamed to say that I had never seen or heard about blue akoya until I found this foreign forum. I even tried look up Vietnamese...

    Japan Kasumi Pearls

    The pearl that got away

So I've been eyeing for SoC loose pearls on the main Perlas de mar de Cortez for a while, and seems like I've always been a step too late. I missed out 2 pearls that I really wanted to buy already, the latest one was a copper-colored in the picture, and another one was a C grade but was huge and...

Has anyone bought from simplyadorned4u on etsy?

Hi ericw! I understand your concern as a buyer too. Sometimes I wish ebay or etsy allow buyers to post the pictures of their purchases like Amazon. Or a video would be great! Also It's hard to find out how many loyal customers a seller has too (which can be a good measure of that seller's...

Has anyone bought from simplyadorned4u on etsy?

Hi Ericw, thank you and you are right, that I could just see the quality of her products and service without really having to look for a review. But I just want to make sure, before I make a purchase (a few hundred dollars is quite an amount for me, and I don't like returning stuff), the vendor...

Has anyone bought from simplyadorned4u on etsy?

Thank you BWeaves and jeg! I had to shorten it a bit because the necklace was long for my little figure. I didn't realize they look like bunnies lol. I thought some of them look like little birds and when I wear them I feel like they are chirping ;)

    Candling pearl questions

Hi everybody, So I have been on this forum for a while, and I have seen this cool method called "pearl candle" (Idk if I got that right or not?). So is it a simple method to see the nucleus inside the pearls? Can someone tell me how to do it in both complicated and simple ways? I tried to search...

How can luster on photos be so high?

I saw them listed fireball and "pink purple" freshies as South Sea pearls. Shame. If they were selling the exact strands, they will do better if listed them as "Edison"...

    Pearl and Gemstones

hmm, would the tourmaline attract to much attention to itself? My SoC is not vibrantly colorful and I still want it to be the focal point. I would definitely love watermelon tourmaline with peacock Tahitian tho (I saw a great pair of earrings on Instagram) or with rainbowy edison freshies.

    Pearl and Gemstones

I was considering making it just the pearl and the ring, but the pearl was fairly small for my taste (~8.5mm, PSS?) so I had to put something in there. I might try a matte ring next time, thank you for the suggestion <3 Thanks guys I am planning to try out different types of gem stone with...
