    Hong Kong Street Market Pearls

Jeremy you are right, most of the fwp in Vietnam are from China. But the Vietnamese farmers are working on it, and the local governors are interested in investing in the pearl industry too. It's just that both pearl farmers and pearl consumers are not very well-informed about the pearl industry...

    Hong Kong Street Market Pearls

I found an article about this man in Vietnam who has been farming freshwater pearls since 2012/2013?. I guess one person doesn't really count much, but I think there are some FWP farmers in Vietnam who still trying to get their feet in the market...

    Pearl and Gemstones

Ericw, yes that is imperial topaz, I just put it in there to see how the combination with yellow-orange stones would look. the rest of the stones are fluorite, citrine, emerald, amethyst and garnet. To be honest I'm just doing this for fun, I still prefer the clear quartz/citrine/fluorite...

    Hong Kong Street Market Pearls

As a Vietnamese, I am sad to have to agree with the fact that our country's pearl market is flooded with Chinese freshwater pearls. There are many Vietnamese articles about this problem too. But I am surprised that even pearl-dedicated shops are flooded with CFWP too. Can I ask you how you can...

    Pearl and Gemstones

Ericw, that's citrine tooth is so pretty! Luckily there's a place in my town that sells rough citrine and amethyst, so finding a drilled amethyst or citrine for me is not a problem. unfortunately they don't sell pricier stones like fluorite or garnet, so I have to look up online for vendors...

    Pearl and Gemstones

Morella and Ericw thank you so much for giving me so many great ideas! I'm really tempted to pair my pearls with blue-green flourite, ametrine, citrine or moonstone. I can easily buy amethyst and citrine, but at the moment I havent found a good source for ametrine and flourite yet. I'm also...

    Hong Kong Street Market Pearls

Luvglitz that's beautiful pearls you bought! I found it was strange that you had so little time for shopping, because that is when the tour guide gain extra money from bringing customers to shops.

    Pearl and Gemstones

Hi ericw! Unfortunately, I haven't found new stones yet because I didn't really have time :( I really like your idea of pairing it with gold nugget! The shades really compliment each other. Also, the SoC looks pretty good with golden south sea. Maybe I can substitute the stones with baroque...

BRaves and SunSeeker, thank you for verifying. I didn't really understand the terms oops. In my country we just called old things, well, "old" (it sounds a bit fancier in Vietnam tho)

    Analysis Paralysis! Help!

Pearlseeker1 I can understand your preference for color, but white pearls have different overtones too which might affect you. Do you prefer silver, pink, or cream overtone? Do you want metallic pearls or just high luster? Have you checked out the blue akoya? They pretty cool too but I dont know...

    Kobe cultured pearl earrings

As the pearls are in decent size and quality, but the settings are sterling silver and the fact that it is pre owned I'd think the earrings may worth around $50?

What to do with articles like this?

CrazyMissy I think the Queen was wearing white pearls, it's just the lighting that make them look colorful. As the British royalty has pretty strict rules for fashion, I doubt that she would wear colorful pearls for that occasion.
