Working with pearls

Hello,

I would like to say that I have enjoyed a lot reading the pearl-guide website and found a lot of interesting information about pearls. As a soon to be gemmologist (hopefully..) I am very interested in working with pearls in the future and wanted to ask your advice about where to start to look for possible opportunities. As I don't have any previous experience with pearls, I don't have any preference in what area of the industry I would like to be in, as well as location (I am in UK at the moment). Gaining experience and knowledge would be the main goal. Additionally to contacting companies directly, are there any other options you would recommend?

Hi Mariliis, welcome to the forum,

Good way to network would be to go to trade shows, also trade suppliers often have a notice board. Trade magazines can be a useful resource.

Have you discussed this with your teacher? they are really in the know
