It's really hard to judge the luster and other qualities of pearls against a dark background. A white background is much better. A paper towel works fine.
Could you take:
1. A photo of the entire strand
2. Close ups of a few of the pearls' blemishes
Please try to get the focus as sharp as you can. Natural or artificial light are okay but avoid flash.
