Hi,

Does anyone here know where i can buy wholesale loose Tahitian pearls?

Thanks!

Have a nice day!

Hi Zannafille,

The gem fairs usually have some pearl dealers who sell loose Tahitian pearls. They would probably be undrilled, and seller might be able to drill to your specifications. (Half or fully drilled.) That is one way to actually see the pearls you want to purchase. Do you have credentials to actually purchase wholesale? Most of the online dealers around here will have loose pearls that are not shown online. Prices can certain vary quite a bit. You know from past experience you are getting a good value from the online Tahitian dealers who are members here.

Perhaps you already have this, but a good book to help you learn about buying pearls is : PEARL BUYING GUIDE, How to Identify and Evaluate Pearls & Pearl Jewelry by Renee Newman GG. Full of great info and photos!

How do you plan to use the wholesale pearls?

When you say buy wholesale, what exactly do you mean, a bucket full of unsorted and undrilled loose single pearls or 100 strands drilled and matched?
Where are you?

Hi
Thanks Pattye for your reply, ill take a look at that book thanks!

To pearlescence, sorry maybe i did not word it the right way, i don't mean by the bucket full i just mean the odd few pearls or strands to make for my own pleasure or for my family & Friends. For the next 10 months I'm in South America French Guyane, then after that in between France & UK!

The Tahitians I use in my designs come from various members here. If I see a strand in the shape, color, size and price I like, I purchase it unfinished. Very easy to figure the cost per pearl. Much easier to match pairs for earrings, pendants, etc. I have great, great respect for those whose task is to match/sort pearls of any kind.
