While I'm at it, I may as well show you what got me started.

I bought this at a local jeweler. The pearl is 15x19mm, and the setting is sterling silver.

Of course, this wasn't my very first pearl jewelry. My husband gave me a couple of very classic and dainty pieces, but by now, you can tell my taste in jewelry is not dainty at all.

Not only is your ring absolutely gorgeous, I can certainly see how you got hooked on the baroque pearl in that amazing setting. And while talking about unique, the hand display - looks like cast bronze, is amazing as well. Wherever did you find that interesting piece? Would love to track one down for myself. I've seen the various glass and cast iron pieces, but yours far surpasses those for character.

Thanks, jmd.

I found Buddha's hand, which came as half of a pair, in Ubud, Bali. Yes, they are cast bronze and were probably treated to bring out the verdigris. They were relatively inexpensive, about $15. Now they serve as the pulls to our front door.

The Balinese make all sorts of drawer and door pulls. For the cat lovers in the forum, here are the ones on the other side of the door.

Thanks Cyndanco. Those are beyond cool!! Love your creative use as door handles. Not heading to Bali anytime soon, but there's always the internet.

I want to come to your house. If those are just the door handles... what lies beyond...?! Great ring. Makes my souffle ring look absolutely tame and simple in comparison (to me, it was pretty bold and wild).

What started me off was a gift from Hubby when he was in Hong Kong. I just loved the look of the triple with its beautiful butterfly gold/diamond clasp:

BAS, I fell in love with a similar peach/pink/mauve strand late last year. But apparently, pastel doesn't agree with my complexion.

Anyway, if you're ever in the neighborhood, I'll give you a tour of the homestead and of Greenhills.
