Hi Pearl Mavens,

I would appreciate any and all information/guidance.
These pearls were my mother's given to her from a lover bought somewhere in Asia.
I do not have a box or tags.
They are a little gritty to the teeth.
The clasp is platinum and diamonds.

The smaller set are "seed" pearls?

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

I did not mean to poll my post -that was a mistake.

Welcome bgscott,

Thanks for sharing photos of these necklaces. The pearl roundness of the double strand and their size indicate they are cultured akoya pearls. The luster shows well, and of course the platinum and diamond clasp adds value. The photo of the smaller strand isn't clear or large enough to say much except they likely are cultured pearls also.

Do you know approx how many years ago your Mother received these pearls?
