Your pearls are called button shape (not round) or roundel. They are cultured freshwater pearls from China; there is no nucleus or bead inside. The dark color means they have been dyed. Lots of interesting colors, blues, purples, greens, a very wearable strand! How long is your necklace?
 
Thank you so much. That is helpful. It is 20.5” long. Some similar ones that I see on eBay they are calling the color “peacock”.
 
Yes, "peacock" is a common color descriptor for dyed fwp that have multiple colors like that.
