I bought this pearl from my recent trip to the Philippines. Is it an authentic South Sea Pearl?

Hello, by the photos the luster looks like south sea.. besides, in Philippines it's easier to buy a south sea pearl than any other type of pearls)) if the pearl is real (not imitation) - I wouldn't doubt it's a south sea pearl)

It definitely appears to be a white South Sea pearl. Chances are they were grown outside of the Philippines, most likely Indonesia.

Looks like it! Congrats on the purchase!

There are a lot of ssp's in PH, but it's rare to find a pretty good one. Usually there are quite a number of "fish bites" (which annoys me), or the surface is obviously uneven (again, annoying!), some vendors will say they're round (nope, just semi-round), and what kills me the most is are the setting options: there's silver, Singapore 14k gold and PH 14k gold (which really is 12k).

Ok, maybe I'm being OCD.

And maybe that's why I joined pretty late in the pearl party. :p
