What kind of pearl is this and how do I find out the value of this pearl?

This is a very old pearl I know but I am not sure exactly what kind it is. Any info would be appreciated and also how so I go about finding the value of this pearl?

That picture is so tiny, and the salmon/red back ground is reflecting on the sides of it. Can you crop it so the pearl takes up most of the space? Reshooting on white, like a paper towel makes it easier to see, if you can do it..

Even so it looks like a "rosebud" freshwater pearl. How large it it and how old? Do you know where it is from? We need more info to tell what kind of freshwater pearl it is. Is there a story?
