What kind of Pearl in a ring is this?

This pearl appears to be non nacreous to me. But maybe better eyes and those with more experience may be able to give some information about it.

What beautiful workmanship. Maybe a clam pearl? I am thinking quahog except the gold has a far Eastern flavor. Maybe a tridacna?

Caitlin, The pearl is 4.5 mm so no biggy but cute. Photos are much good for making a decision. The Gold does have that Far Eastern Look. What it reminds me of is Southern Spain or far north Africa decorations. Does that make sense? All spending has now stopped. Pockets are turned inside out.

Dave, thanks I forgot about that thread but it is a good one so just spent time going over it again. But will have to read up and drool over it some more.
