Merry Christmas Morning everybody!
An acquaintance is offering me some of her pearls. She is a vintage jewelry enthusiast but not particularly knowledgeable in pearls. She told me these are "corn" Japanese freshwater for the 60-80s. Very white and 4mm.

I was wondering if that is so...

Thank you in advance!

Button freshwater pearls. They're flat on one side and rounded on the other, like a button. The technology to make freshwater pearls perfectly round has made the button pearls not as desirable these days, but they're still very pretty.

Thank you, BWaves! She is asking $100, but I guess I'd rather add that hundred to my Hanadama piggy bank :D
