Vintage Pearl Pin

I have the sweetest little pin that I have had for 40+ years. It's about an inch long with a small but quite lustrous pearl and a teeny tiny ruby. Can anyone tell me what kind of pearl this is?

It looks like a little cultured freshwater pearl.

That is a sweet little pin. Looks like a Rice Krispie era freshwater pearl. 100% nacre. Really nice luster.

Thank you! I don't wear it as often as I should but I have many other brooches that I wear all the time. I, too, am a brooch lover.
