Vendor list

Hi,

Is there a 'list' of vendors who should be avoided? I've seen some lovely pearls on Ebay - Ebay does have some refinement at times. I see some Chinese sellers there and they seem to be being avoided by the GP (General Public).

I found this pearl on the blessed Ebay but I'm not sure as to its authenticity. There's HS in Sydney, Australia that looks genuine but if there was a 'list' to check on it would be very handy indeed - as long as lawyers aren't hanging around. ;)

Hi Kelo,
This company may operate out of Australia, but their prose is not Australian!
I would recommend one of the on line sellers from this forum. You know what you are getting when you deal with our members.
Good luck.

Hi Kelo,

There are purposely no lists of that sort; we encourage members of the forum to learn enough that one knows how to judge from photos and and in person, and what questions to ask. If you have a question about a certain item, or a specific seller, feel free to ask for comments.

For example, I would want to know if the pearl in the photo is the pearl you would be receiving, or is it a stock photo---------------no info about the overtones in pearl color.

I read the descriptions of some of the sellers and yes, the English wasn't quite right but that in itself doesn't make the seller dubious yet it does tend to make one feel slightly uneasy. Personally, I would do a lot of research before committing to making a purchase. Also, I would only buy from a vendor that I 'know' rather than take a chance.

Made another decision - I'm not buying anything from a site that has the rather suspect AAA+ and AAAA ratings (after reading posts about it).

Good For You!! I almost dissed the site, but I thought if you researched further, you'd find a decent drill. Anyone who sells shell pearls is suspect in my book.

LOL Haven't found the drill yet but it's past my 'head to cave for the night' time lol. I'll search tomorrow.

Yes, I thought this the other day when I was chasing up on the ring that Kelo had mentioned.... very un-Australian language here! Not that that is necessarily indicative of the pearl quality, but does send a few flags waving..
