Doesn't that thread title make any sense?

No prob. see what I mean down HERE.

There are a couple more interesting (little) pearl things where these come from.

Hi Ana,

If they are indeed from 1920 and Tiffany they are natural because Tiffany did not carry cultured pearls before 1950. Although they are very small for men's wear, they are a good deal price-wise. Most jewelers here in California charge you more just for looking at 18k.

I have a ring with a little natural pearl in it. It definitely does not have the wow factor of pearls available to us now. I'm sure back in that epoch to have any pearl, even a 4mm one was something special. How lucky we are to live in the 21st century in some ways!

True enough... it is an exciting time: PPBs may be impostors, but naturals and non-PPB cultured appear to me no more different that first and second degree murder - it doesn't matter much for the victim, and the absence of intent isn't easy to prove in court  ... at least for some.

Still... I want a couple of naturals for old times sake and 5-6mm is not really small for these - at least those do not require a loupe! Dress studs though? ...oh well, it is fun to look for such things anyway ...

I gotta say, the design isn't horrible but as a man I'd be embarrassed to wear pearls that small. I wouldn't even touch pearls smaller then 9-10mm for shirt studs or cufflinks and even those are still smallish on me.
