I went to Greenhills in search of 3-4mm round FWPs, which I did not find. Instead I came home with something better: color-shifting baroque FWPs, and metallic fireballs that can hold their own with natural color akoyas.

How can I possibly concentrate on work tomorrow, knowing these pearls are waiting for me at home?

(For scale, the white akoyas in the photo are 6.5-7mm.)

Nice Syndayco, saw many Filipino ladies from Greenhills during the Hong Kong Fair and some recognized me from the market. They are though to deal with if they want to buy something, I could see hahaha

Thanks, Cees. Maybe next September, I'll be lucky enough to see you in action at the Hong Kong Fair.

Thanks, Kat, Pattye, and Andrea.

My local pearl markets, Greenhills and Market Market, have become more interesting lately. Pearls that I thought I'd never see here--metallic fireballs, nucleated ripples, exotic keshis--are coming in. Probably not the best quality, but some are fairly decent. Plus the prices of Tahitians seem to be dropping as of late, while freshwater pearls are becoming more and more expensive.

I'd really like to check out the other pearl markets in the region. The Hong Kong gem fair is very much on my mind.
