Wow! That is one spectacular pearl! Does anyone know more on the story of where it was when it was "lost" and how it was found? So fascinating. Thanks for sharing

It probably belonged to the family that inherited it. That's a guess, but she gave the earl of Norwich (if I remember correctly) a beautiful river Tay freshwater pearl choker. The family has conserved it ever since, but they sent it on tour- It was with the Field museum pearl tour
