I determined that the photo was in a press release, so I take responsibility for pasting it here, where it can be seen long after it is sold or goes back into retirement, or whatever.;)

Wow! That is one spectacular pearl! Does anyone know more on the story of where it was when it was "lost" and how it was found? So fascinating. Thanks for sharing :D
 
It probably belonged to the family that inherited it. That's a guess, but she gave the earl of Norwich (if I remember correctly) a beautiful river Tay freshwater pearl choker. The family has conserved it ever since, but they sent it on tour- It was with the Field museum pearl tour
