Looks like the Smithsonian Channel will be televising a new documentary on the South Sea Pearl industry. From the looks of the teaser clip they will be showing the Paspaley operations in Broome & Darwin. First showing is Wednesday, June 9th, at 9pm EST. Here's a link to the film clip:

I saw shots of Kuri Bay and the Kimberly Coast line and it brought back many fond memories of visiting the Darwin & Paspaley. If you're a fan of SS Pearls and haven't seen the Paspaley operation, it looks like this show is a must-watch.

I'm sure the shots of the pearls in the grading/sorting room will be well worth your time. :D

Anyone else having problems with this link? It's taking forever to open with me, sadly.

Bummer. My cable company doesn't have the NGC. Thanks for the heads-up though. Maybe it will be available to watch online in the future. ;)
