Hello,

Could these be genuine - I think so from tooth test for grittiness. They were a hand down from mom over 15 years ago- now took them out to look at them . Thanks

They're cultured Chinese freshwater pearls. All nacre, no bead nucleus. The eggy shapes and the indentations/rings are typical of the earlier ones.

These are still sold today, but they are the lower-end pearls. Rounder freshwaters are now available.
