Possibly (almost definitely?) scammed?, 14mm freshwater pearl strand

Hello, i decided to buy, for my mother, a nice birthday gift, and i heard there was a new pearl shop in my country.

I live in a small-ish country and pearls are not very popular for stores to sell, they just don't bother importing them, so most of what is here comes from people who bring it over

So anyways, i buy this 700 JOD strand of pearls, 14mm in size and obviously blemished, i knew about this.
What doesn't make sense to me is the price, and what kind of pearls they really are

Are they dyed?, what is the actual valuation for 14mm freshwater pearls?, should it be almost worthless?

700 JOD btw = around 1100 USD, the last picture attached is a more professional photograph done by the shop

What confuses me further is that the shop has multiple strands, obviously freshwater yet real pearl, for prices like 80-90 JOD, much much cheaper and more reasonably priced, so i don't think the intent was to scam me, they genuinely believe this has something in order to make it worth what it is.

That's a really sweet idea for your mom's birthday! When I just saw the title and the price, I was thinking very high quality Edison pearls, which are indeed freshwater. But after opening the pictures, I think these are non-nucleated Chinese freshwater pearls, in other words, the ones cultured in the traditional way. Admittedly, it's rare for freshwater pearls with no bead to grow to this size and has this luster, but still the price is a bit too high. The last picture is very pretty. : )
