loose pearls

I just ordered this one from Druzydesigns - I think the colour will work well with the Tahitians I bought from the HK show. Hope so anyway :p 11- 15mm

Thanks, would be good if I actually started to do something with the things I already have instead of buying more things...hard to stop buying things tho.. :)

noooooh - keep buying things Kat

treasure troves can always be got back to.......

imagine if you opened the box and there was nothing there :(

we're patient (well, for a bit anyway......)

What box, Katbran?

And you know, you better buy it while you can. Time enough to create when you run out of opportinuty to buy :) With the quality you're after, they'll be heirlooms, and then it is called "investing", not buying.

I ordered a few things from a stone wholesaler in India as a test run..they turned out quite nice.. but they arrived swimming in bubble wrap , in a tin box that originally was used for Cashews (its embossed on the lid), the box had been completely wrapped in tape, then it was wrapped in muslin and sewn closed...then sealing wax placed on every join and corner. Never seen anything like it ha!

Hi Katbran
I've had shipments wrapped like that. It certainly makes for a sense of occasion and I felt it almost wrong to open it. very hard to make myself discard the wrappings too!

When I posted some Darjeeling tea from Darjeeling to my mother in London, I had to take the parcel to a tailor first, who sewed in in cotton and applied the sealing wax. Cost was very little, but it did look pretty impressive. And it saved me lugging it for another month!

I know! What clever packaging we're missing out on!

May we know who is responsible for this intriguing package? Might want to test it ;)

2 things I like :)

(1) That sewn in tin box from Jaipur with handwritten characters on cotton muslin sealed in with crumbly red wax that wreaks havoc on carpets when opened with delight by a sqealing recipient

(2) That we are investing in our pearl portfolio, not squandering, INVESTING :p Dear hubby, did you here that?! Great returns beckon.
