Apparently this is correct. I was speaking with a West Aust. hatchery consultant just this afternoon and prior to reading this thread ,who confirmed it had indeed been a difficult year .....

I have read in a study the bacteria that was identified was from the chlamydiae family and that there was an association between the sick oysters and the bacteria. They are however not the original cause of the epidemy.
