Hi

I was walking along the beach with my kids. I picked up a pics of shell that is part of a large flat oyster shell. The shell itself looks like it has layers like a stack of paper glued together (about 2cm tall). It has a pearl that is inbetween these layers.

I dont want to break the actual layers of shell open yet.

Does anyone has an idea of whether cultured pearls can be found blistered in the shell. It looks very round and the pearl itself looks round and about 5mm

Well congratulations, could we start by some photos ?

Unless you are on the beach near a pearl farm, that is probably a natural blister pearl. Photos would be of great interest to many of us, because this is an unusual find in the layers you describe.
