Hello - so glad to have found this group and forums! I acquired this necklace in a grab bag I purchased and was thrilled because its my first necklace to add to my pearl collection in these beautiful tones of pinks, grey, purple, etc. The findings are marked 925. After every 5th pearl is a small silver bead. I think the pendant appears to be two pieces of mother of pearl glued to a plastic disc. My main question is, are these Keshi Tahitian pearls? And then secondly, I am not really a fan of how they are strung, should I have them restrung or is there a trick to getting them to lay better? They seem to be tightly crammed - but maybe that is the style whomever made this was trying to achieve! The necklace length is around 17 inches, the pearls measure 4 - 5 mm. The pearls in question are not Tahitian keshi-- they are dyed freshwater pearls from China.
They will lie better if knotted between each pearl. If you think you'd like to restring them yourself, you can save money-- many of us restring our pearls. It's not hard.
