It is a wonderful rundown of what can be a dizzying subject for novices and those looking to learn the basics about pearls of every variety. We have found these small and easy to read and navigate books a wonderful tool in educating (or distracting) husbands while their wives shop for pearls. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to expand their library or have a portable guide to recognizing different sorts of pearls and making educated decisions.
Many of the contributors of Pearl-Guide are featured in the hundreds of photos, and Renee has worked tirelessly to present this updated version about the ever changing world of pearls.

I agree! You couldn't find a book with more beautiful color photos of pearls per inch than this one. Just inside the front cover is Steve Metzler's abalone and pipi pin. (I knew I forgot something at the post office - mailing Steve's copy to him!)

The book is beautiful, informative and very affordable. There's no down side to buying this one, folks! Lots of changes from the last edition.
