Hi there! My boyfriend's mother loves pearls and directed me to this forum! This is my first post. These are two necklaces that were given to me.
I think my mother gave me the Omura, I can't remember. Neither the pendant nor the chain has any marks, so I assume it's set in costume jewelry. I've had it for over ten years and it's never developed any patina or tarnish. I don't know anything about it.
The Little Princesse is from my aunt from the '50s. When she gave it to me, she laughed that the box is probably more valuable than the necklace. It's a 14k chain. It was a fad to give girls a "build a pearl necklace" and add a pearl every year. I haven't measured it, but I need to use an extender to wear it without worrying I'll break it by sneezing.
All pictures were taken in natural light. The last picture of the Little Princesse I lightened on my phone when I took it.
If you know anything about either of these or the companies, I'd love to know!
Nice to meet all of you! I look forward to learning more.
