Browsing ebay (as you do) for pearl ****, I wondered about these, ebay item 400087201810 from seller nylady_art:

Quite a lot about them makes me doubt they are actually south seas / Tahitians. The shapes in particular, some look too oval (like freshwater) and the gold ones look enhanced or dyed. Some of the pearls have the sort of rings that makes me think freshwater, too.
If they are Tahitian / south seas, they look well over-priced to me, not great quality, and none of the real oomph that lovely Tahitians can have.
The same seller's clearly got a very dodgy Akoya listing or two - like these obviously freshwater "akoya 14mm pearls"!!
