Hi guys!

I was just in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand and I went to the "Pearl Factory" kiosk and purchased an oyster and got this pearl. The lady behind the desk said that it was gold and she was very adamant about me getting it drilled and put into jewelry, but I refused because I want to sell it. I don't have a measuring tape so I put it by a penny to give a size estimate. I was wondering if any of you guys would know the value of it? and where I could go and sell it? Thanks!

You've got a single, freshwater pearl. You would be hard pressed to sell it for the same price you purchased it.

I am sorry to say that those pearls in an oyster are always fake set ups. The pearl is real, but the oyster set up is fake.

They show up for sale in booths at tourist destinations. Your pearl is just like a postcard or something else a tourist would pick up on vacation. It is worth far less than a penny. It is meant to be nothing more than a momento, a moment shared. And to jack up the profit to where it makes money to sell a single pearl.
